Seminar Series

ISHTIP is pleased to present our online seminar series—an ongoing platform for critical dialogue at the intersection of intellectual property, history, theory and culture.

This series brings together scholars from around the world to explore how intellectual property regimes have evolved and how they continue to shape, and be shaped by, broader social, political, and technological forces. In keeping with ISHTIP’s interdisciplinary ethos, the series invites contributions from law, history, philosophy, sociology, literary theory, political economy, anthropology, and beyond.

Each seminar features a thought-provoking presentation followed by open questions and discussion, offering participants an opportunity to engage with the work and connect across disciplines and geographies. Whether you’re a long-time member of ISHTIP or new to our community, we invite you to join us in rethinking the foundations and futures of intellectual property.

Please see below for our upcoming seminars, including registration information.

We also welcome contributions for future seminars, from all disciplines, geographies and career stages. Please get in touch with our Seminar Series coordinator Carol Ballard at carol.ballard@uq.edu.au if you would like to be considered to present in the future. Once we have reviewed your submission we will be in touch.
